I have great 4G coverage in my area. What happens is I come home from work and I'll let my phone site idle. Finally I pick it up and try to place a call and it just immediately hangs up before dialing out. I'll then try and send a text message and it will fail to send immediately. However, my 4G data connection still works and I can browse the net, facebook, etc. I have to reboot my phone to get call/txt service back and more often than not I get about 3 or 4 text messages after rebooting. When I talked to tech about it, they did some voodoo black magic and "reset" my account? The tech said that if it didn't fix my problem then I should go get a new SIM card at the store or they could mail me one. This disconnect of text/calls was happening about 2 times a day. After they "fixed" it, it's drastically reduced, but it still happens about 3 or 4 times a month now, once a week at least. Simply complete loss of text/call signal, but 4G data connection remains so at least I'll have internet.
Kmac940, any idea what this would be? Is it the same issue that faust0230 is talking about?
They kicked the switch which usually helps alot as you say it improved but if it still bugs you i'd recommend a replacement honestly if a master reset doesn't fix it.

So its definitely a hardware issue? With the phone or the SIM card? I guess I don't understand what the "switch" is. They said they noted my issue on my account and I shouldn't have to get hassled for a new SIM, but what's the best technical wording to tell an in-store rep or via phone support to get a replacement issued so I don't have to waste time with them hassling me with factory resets, troubleshooting, etc. and trying to prove it has issues? I swear, last time I tried to get a replacement (INSIDE the 14-day window) for my screen going bonkers, he insisted that unless I could replicate the issue there in the store that they couldn't do anything even though I had documented recorded video on my old Droid X to show the rep! It wasn't until I had to get angry, drop some F bombs, and make a scene that they got me a new phone from the back.
By the way, I'm completely stock on 4.0.4 and have never rooted.

Normally you have to add insurance in the first 30 days or your sol. Then once you get the replacement you can cancel the service. Your welcome =)

That's a nice little loophole in the system. Thanks for the 411 on the $1.99 extended warranty!

So I could get a replacement by adding the 1.99 right now and call the next day? Sounds like a plan. I wanted to know if you have seen an issue like this before, bettings its HW
Had a rooted Galaxy Nexus with Verizon that I loved. Fell in some water and the flash kept on. Pulled the battery, disassembled and let it sit and dry. Put it back together and it boots to the splash screen for 5 seconds, than flashed white screen and restarts. Have tried the following things to get it to boot
Reflashed with Root Toolkit (got a successful)
Reflashed with ODIN (got a pass)
Reflashed manually using command prompts
After every attempt, same thing happens. I am starting to think that some HW is bad because I have wiped the heck out of the SW. When I took it apart, it didn't smell bad and there was no blown capacitors (at least that I could see) and it doesn't get any hotter than it did. Any thoughts?

You need to do an insurance claim cuz the stickers are bled if it was in water.

I've had asurion and the extended warranty on all of my devices since day one which was years ago. Although I've always purchased subsidised phones from Verizon, my newest purchase was a gnex from craigslist. Sadly it has the LTE radio problem. I've lived with it and don't have a major gripe. But, upon remembering that i'm still paying for this insurance. Can I make a claim on this phone with my asurion/Verizon insurance?
I tapd that

...I'm at a loss for words...really?...how many phones do you think I'll go through before I get one without the LTE problem? BTW, thanks for making my day!!
