My wife's Nexus S just got the OTA to Jelly Bean 4.1.1. We're both on Rogers, on the same family plan, and the year-old phone is getting the update first?
This is seriously messed up....

Have you contacted rogers to inquire when your device will be receiving the ota?
Talked to Rogers, who referred me to Samsung. Called Samsung, who got me to clear data on the Google Services Framework (I didn't say I've done this many times already), and then soft-reset the phone. They told me that if that doesn't work (which it didn't), then I could send the phone to them, and they could install the updates at the "laboratory".
Before that, he told me that Samsung wasn't able to push updates to the phone because they're controlled by Google. I informed him that Rogers GNex's are Yakjuux, and updates from from Samsung.
Seriously Samsung? What an utter clown-show. This might explain why we haven't gotten updates, because they have no clue what's going on over there.
The question is, WHY would Samsung put a ROM on the phone that doesn't get updates from Google, when they have no intention of updating it? Or maybe Samsung is just so large that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing, so-to-speak...
But if we can root and flash updates, does it really matter when Rogers is releasing updates?
