Unhappy Issue with 4.2.2 and rooted Galaxy Nexus

    Looking for some guidance/suggestions.

I've got a rooted Galaxy Nexus (4.1.1 JRO03O) that's working great. I even installed the 4.2 camera from ZIP using Clockwork mod.

Now Verizon released 4.2 and I downloaded the ZIP to install.

When I attempt to load the upgrade in Clockwork I get a message telling me that the install is corrupt. It stops on the Gallery app.

I'm assuming that when the Gallery app is checked it's finding the new one that I already replaced on my phone.

I can't find the 4.1.1 camera to put my phone back to "stock" and I'm not sure hot to proceed.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Leithal

I'd find a 4.2.2 rom & flash it after a full wipe. Do you have the latest clockwork mod?

Not sure if I have the latest. But trying to avoid a complete wipe - just finished reloading everything after a HW failure, takes forever. I'll look for the latest Clockwork, just in case.

I was looking and hoping there was another option. I've been looking for a stock 4.1 camera, thinking of I relaxed that I might be able to go to 4.2. No luck as of yet.

    Thanks!

Honestly, I don't keep up with vzw & their updates. I just follow the devs & flash their roms. Where did you get the zip? If it's saying it's corrupt, re-downloading won't hurt. You may have got a bad download the 1st time.

This is where I got the zip. Tried it with numerous downloads - all named the same.

I've sent email to the DROID guy, no response yet.

The second attachment is the error. One I read the message it became clear that it was the existing install with validation errors. The only thing I molded was the camera.

Does your phone still run ok? Does it still boot into android? If so, this is one way to get the 4.1 camera/gallery app. You'll need a computer & a program like 7zip or winrar & a 4.1 rom. Have the rom on your computer, open with an archiver program, go to /system/app, grab the gallery app & drag it to your computer. Then put it on your phone, delete the gallery app you have in /system/app & move the 4.1 app there. Set permission to read write, read, read. Them reboot.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to make a nandroid backup just to be on the safe side.

Googled NANDROID backup... Apparently I did one earlier today - but not early enough.

That was my thought as well - replace the 4.2 camera with the 4.1 and then I'm assuming (yea i know) that I would be able to install. I've been looking for the 4.1 zip for a while with little luck. Seems that everyone had the 4.1 one... I'm sure there is a zip out there somewhere...

My son has the same phone as I, and it's 4.1.1 but not rooted and I doubt that he will let me... He sees the pain I'm having - lol
