water damage -- keeps shutting down

Hello, so i have a galaxy nexus that I bought through the google website. I haven't done anything to the phone to change it's settings..

Yesterday my phone ended up in a pool of water and it died for a little bit. I put it in rice for a day and now it turns on, but only to the locked screen and then it automatically shuts down. If I don't touch it all.. it turns black with the big white battery either with the light bolt or charging. Please help! Thanks

Water is really bad for electronics, TBH I'm always surprised to even hear that people's phones turn on at all after taking a swim. But since it does turn on the subsequently die and show the better charging screen, I wonder if the battery itself might be the issue. You could try and convince someone to let you borrow their battery and see if it'll work.

Put it back in the bag of rice for at least another day. If you have any dessicant dehumidifier packs from food packages that would be even better. As leach says try another battery after another day. Good luck.
