Mobile Network stopped working

Hello,

Mobile networking suddenly stopped working today while I was driving. I thought I was just in a dead zone, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I've rebooted numerous times and confirmed that SIM card still works on my old phone.

Settings -> Mobile network settings -> Network operators -> Search networks
The following error occurs: Error while searching for networks.

Stock 4.1.1

Baseband version is being reported as "Unknown" under About Phone, but in bootloader mode it reports I9250XXLF1 correctly.

I'm trying to avoid a factory reset cause I want to avoid the whole backup/restore process for my data. From what I've researched reflashing the baseband might solve the issue, but I've only seen tutorial for ClockworkMod. Is it possible to do it with stock Android? Am I even on the right track?

I have the same problem as of today. Also have not tried factory reset yet, I am using VOIP as a backup. Please update the thread if you find something. Thanks.

The same thing happened to me, I have tried to flash different radios, roms, and even went back to stock ICS. Does anyone know how the samsung warranty works if you bought the phone off of someone else?

Just an update to the threat has anyone figured out a solution, because having a phone with no mobile network is pretty useless . Samsung was not too helpful in the phone and basically told me I have no coverage and they won't fix it

This is basically what happened to mine, it was a new phone purchased from Google a week ago, working fine then it just stopped accessing te mobile network
I was using an AT&T simm, and I was also able to use a Straight Talk simm, and now neither work, but the AT&T simm works fine in my other phone
Are you getting an open triangle where the connection bars usually are ?, when I initially start up, I will get a gray triangle then it will eventually go to an open triangle (no service)

Mine did this today also. Made 3 calls this morning and then went to make a call around noon and the phone has no signal at all and says "mobile network not available".

Factory reset did nothing. Took the phone apart and checked all antenna connections, they were fine. I installed a new usb board about 6 months ago so I had to pretty much pull everything apart and the phone has worked great since then until today.

After letting the phone sit with no SIM and battery for about an hour, I tried it again and no change. So I took it back apart and bent all the contact tabs up a tiny bit to make sure they make good contact. When I put it back together and booted, it showed signal for about half a second and then back to the empty triangle again.

I guess the phone is a brick now?


EDIT: Forgot to add that I went to T-mobile and they swapped out a different SIM, still no signal. My current SIM works fine in my old phone, so it's not that.

I had issues with 4.1.1 until I rooted! I'm now on 4.2.1 and have had no troubles what so ever!! I changed radios etc before I moved to 4.2.1 and still had trouble!! Only advice I could give is root and try various radios and roms !!

Friend of mine has this issue. No service whatsoever on his phone abiet everything seems fine on the phone. I walked him thru the hurdle off/on, restart, factory reset and so on. I advice him to take it to verizon but just checking if there's anything I'm missing here. He's on a Verizon variant stock Nexus.

Either the sim card is loose and needs to be re-seated or the sim card could be bad. In the latter case a trip to vzw is needed.
