Win7 64x Not Recognizing Phone - Phone also stuck in Locked Mode
System: Windows 7 64bit
Phone: Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus
Build: IMM76K Android 4.0.4
I used the Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 to unlock and root my phone. The first time it was successful, I installed clockwork mod and tried to upgrade to Jellybean using the Stock Kernel. On reboot I was stuck in the locked screen, but my computer could still recognize my device.
I used the toolkit to go back to factory defaults using the Flash Stock + Unroot > Can't Boot Up option. After that I tried to do all the steps again 'Unlock' > 'Root' > Clockwork Mod > Stock Jellybean Kernel. This is where the problem started. I'm stuck in locked mode and I tried to go to the same option to recover as before but now my computer isn't recognizing the phone. I already have the Samsung Drivers installed. I've installed and uninstalled them twice now. I've tried to install the PDA drivers too, but it ends up failing because it says it can't recognize my device.
The second time I rooted with Permanent CWM if that matters.
Samsung drivers: Samsung_USB_Driver_for_Moblie_Phones_v1_4_6_0
So whenever I connect my phone windows says it's searching and installing drivers and it takes a long time and then it tells me it failed to install the MTP device.
I'd really appreciate any help. This is super stressful.
I think I've tried nearly everything. I can't even use Odin because it's not detecting my phone.
:Edit:
In a final act of desperation I've opened up Root Toolkit and set my model type to Android 4.1 and tried the 'Back to Stock' option. This was after uninstalling completely the Samsung drivers, rebooting, Installing Fresh, reboot. I'm back to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4
I've messed it up and managed very very very luckily to fix it on my own. But I want to thank you guys who make these tools that allow us to break and more importantly fix our phones.
