Error WHile Restoring data in CMR

Hello,

I am on a rooted verizon phone running inbetween Modaco and ICS. I tried to flash Modaco 2 times. The 1st time my phone got stuck on boot animation and I had to pull battery and go back to stock successfully. The 2nd time the phone got stuck on boot animation and so I pulled the battery hoping to go back to stock and now, I can't get out of recovery. It just keeps saying error while restoring data. I hope my phone isn't broken. Help is appreciated immensely

Is it saying "error while restoring data" when you try to restore a backup? Did you wipe data before flashing the ROM?

Hello,
I got past the boot screen by going into advanced restore and just did a system restore. Now I am at the desktop and when I try to unlock it gets stuck. Should I go to advanced restore and do restore boot? I already tried the advanced data restore and the error message was the same. Thanks for the help.

Yes. I wiped dalvick too.

Also, after about 5 minutes on the locked screen, then the boot animation would flash, then go back to lockscreen. It just keeps doing this. I am a beginner

You shouldn't use the advanced restore features and selectively restore different things...that will usually cause issues. I assume what you were trying to do is restore your data over Modaco...? If so, I wouldn't recommend that...ROMs require you to wipe data, and usually restoring data over a ROM will lead to issues, such as boot loops.

If you want to restore to an earlier point, use the restore option in recovery, not the advanced restore options. If you want to flash the ROM, flash the ROM per the instructions without restoring anything over it.

Ok. I tried the restor again after wiping and still the same message.

Should I try to unroot my phone and start over? I just can't get past the boot animation or the recovery error. I am definately stuck..

Yes, I think that would be the next step if restoring a backup and reflashing the ROM didn't work. What method did you use to root?
