Nexus Boot loop

So I flashed AOKP 28 today, no problem, then I put a theme over it that thinking back was meant for milestone 4 and didn't wipe or anything. Waited for the phone to boot up, now when I turn it on i'm in an endless boot loop. I know I know. Hold Power and Down to get to the bootloader--Done. Only problem is, I didn't permanently flash clockwork to the phone like a dummy. Now Im on the stock bootloader screen it says "Downloading...Do not turn off target" and it just sits there. Is it really downloading something? is there something that can be done? or am I the first noob to brick a nexus device?

You are actually in the download mode. Since you don't have CWM recovery installed you will need to get back to stock either by Odin or ADB. How did you root your phone?

Edit. Did you try vol up and down with power?
