Had my Galaxy Nexus, since early Jan. 2012. Great smartphone. Horrible "phone" so far.
Calls ar poor in quality, with break ups and crackling in background, despite being around no interference.
Calls are suddenly dropped, after 10 min.
Call screen goes "black" after this short period, and you can't reaquire your home screen without ending the call accidentaly.
During calls that have automated answering, that request you to dial in your home # to identify yourself, the dialing is not recognized by the answering service, and you are prompted to repeat the effort, which goes unrecognized. But if you use a "land line", it IS recognized.
I told Verizon that my phone rarely registers "1" bar, if any at all, on my phone screen, making me wonder if I even have phone service available. The Verizon rep showed me her phone, same model, with 3 bars, same network, same location. She was confused as to why that was occuring.
I took my phone back to Verizon, in Memphis, Tn. They say they have not had ONE customer with these issues. Yet when I tell them of message boards with similar complaints, they are stunned.
I have heard it was a SIM card issue...I was given a new one, and still the problems.
I was told it was a PHONE issue....I was given not a NEW phone, but one that was JUST LIKE NEW, that was shipped to me overnite, and still the problems.
I read where Samsung knew of these issues, and a "patch" was being developed to address it, or that since the upgrade to ICS 4.02, that these phone issues have resulted.
I just need some insight into why the calls are dropped, why the screen goes black, why no "bars" despite being in the center of 4G coverage, and if I should demand a "totally new" phone, and not one that is "just like new".
Thanks.
