    Mediaserver hogging battery

I have googled this and have seen numerous theories as to the cause, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus as the actual cause/fix: Mediaserver is using a large percentage of my battery all of a sudden. I am running the Axiom v2.3 rom (and loving it). I do not stream music nor video and rarely use youtube (have not used it in the last day or so). Any ideas?

I googled around and found this: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6765

eems like it may be a corrupt media file. Or that Picasa may be syncing. But like you said, there isnt a definite cause/fix that I've found.

When I checked Settings > Accounts & sync, I discovered that Sync Google Play Music was checked. I unchecked it, because I'm pretty sure that's where my battery drain was coming from, because I had it unchecked before I recently updated Google Play Music.
