Lack of LTE isn't a downfall yet. The cool thing about HSPA+ is that you don't need a new radio to benefit from infrastructure updates. Right now its slightly slower than LTE and may actually be on par if not faster in 2013.

What turns me off is lack of removable battery and no microSD slot. However I can overlook these aspects if the new device really outshines the gnex. Currently I have the android 4.2 camera I stalled on my phone and would have to say that its spectacular. Anyone with the jbsourcery rom should try it out. Without that specific rom you'd had to extract the apk from the 4.2 build and install yourself. Be advised that this still leaves the old camera which has to be ma dually disabled from the app menu.

The lack of LTE is huge bummer for those of us on contract with Verizon because it also lacks CDMA. GSM/HSPA+ doesn't exist for us VZW folks.

There is also a flashable zip for that camera apk out on the nethers for all rooted Galaxy Nexus

As of now, it's impossible to release an unlocked LTE phone that works on VZW. I see that as a big enough reason for Google to not sell an LTE version of the N4. As someone mentioned above, HSPA+ 42 will be just as fast as, if not faster than, LTE without draining battery. :-)

No LTE means no go for me. I'm not going backwards. LTE is the future no matter what anyone says. T-Mobile and Sprint even sees that now. LTE has not even touched the possibilities it can do.

Everywhere I look at nexus discussions its getting hammered if it's not the lack of lte its no micro SD. But not one person/comment I have seen so far is the least bit concerned about the fact that the 2100mhz battery isn't changeable, I get through 2 of them a day on my Gnex! The big thing about the N4 is wireless charging they make a big deal about stating "no wires" but from where I'm sitting I'm going to need to carry a whole dam charging dock, not very practical imo and personally I think Google made a big mistake using LG for a nexus device (that looks like a cheap mutated I phone 4s)

I agree nexus LG Roflmfao that's how they kept the cost down by using the worst electronics manufacturer on the planet!

All I can say to that is "thank god" as Motorola and Europe are not 2 words that go well together in a sentence (without making me vomit) and I like the idea of nexus in general or GED at least. Yes I'm on a Motorola Xoom (first GED tablet) or that's what we were told! but not sold! I had to play with mine to make it so and for that I will never touch another Motorola device again! You can keep Motorola over on your side of the pond thanks, Germany seen the opportunity given by apple and seized it.

    Why O why didn't we!
