Best way to get the nexus?

I got an original droid x, my screens been cracked for a while now and I been meaning to send it in to asurion I just haven't gotten a chance. I think what I want to do is send in my x and get the x2. Then sell it on ebay to give me some coin towards the nexus. What do you guys think? Anyone else selling their device for it?

I'm buying outright. Caught a lucky windfall, but that doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I started a similar thread elsewhere. I have an upgrade available but also have budgeted the funds to buy one outright (assuming the price is comparable to other new devices). Been trying to decide whether it would be worth saving the upgrade for next year since I have the cash sitting here not committed to anything.

    Just tapped that..

Omg I just typed a huge post and lost it...DAMNIT. Anyways I was just saying how over the next year I think the main advancement will be quad core and then it will take some time on top of that for the tech to be taken advantage of so I have no reason to wait to use my upgrade. I bought my X a year and a half ago and never felt the need to get something 'better'. The things I don't like is the crappy speaker, camera, locked bootloader and inconsistencies. I go into the gym with my friend who has the 4s and he gets service everywhere...even in the basement. I don't. I never have 'phone' measuring competitions with any of my android buddies only with people who have the i*phone. If I'm being honest...I'm an androider all the way and this is just my opinion but the the only phone that can stack up to the 4s right now is the nexus. Def worth using the upgrade =p

I'm considering the upgrade path myself since there hasn't been any Verizon device that's come out since the DX that has made me absolutely HAVE to upgrade. I don't live or work in a 4G area so that consideration is null. No other phone has made me say O M G.....until now lol. Either way, contract or not I'm going for this phone!

Super phones like the Galaxy Nexus tend to have that effect on people, especially people who are into modding their phones. Let's face it, the Nexus series has always been the Developer's Phone and this one won't be any different in that respect. So we're all in the same boat that you're in. Some of us just have to wait a little longer to get our hands on it.

I haven't decided if I'm using the upgrade I have available or just buying outright.
