Love the Galaxy Nexus EXCEPT FOR

I love the little Galaxy Nexus. Makes travel so much easier without having to drag that heavy laptop. But I've run into connection problems. I can connect at home (not necessary--have computers at home) and at McDonald's restaurants, but most anywhere else, nope. Hotels, other people's homes with Wifi, nope. I'm not a technically-minded person so if you tell me to delete and install my router I'll give you a blank stare. Anyone have any help? Or did I get a dud?

Hello Vallerie hi, yeah lots of people have had the same probs. First off lay the nexus down and take a look at your signal for a while and try texting or ringing OK, Then hold the phone in your hands for the same amount of time and do the same. Think I have the answer but don't want to look a plum by blurting it out without confirmation. Think the only way out is trying another radio and that means looking rather strange lol. Really the truth of the matter its simple to custom ROM your nexus and if your not sure take your time looking it up or just ask around your neighborhood coz everyone is doing it. Its the new craze girl go for it!!!""""lol

One thing to consider here, most hotels and many other homes require an access code to use the wifi. I know with hotels, many times you can connect to the router, but then you have to launch the browser and accept terms before you finally can use the wifi, I am not sure if these are your issues, just throwing out some things to check.
