Hi! Didn't know this forum was out here, but have had a question plaguing me for a bit and found you when I was looking up the solution. Looks like a great site and I look forward to joining you guys!

Still haven't figured out the answer to my question yet, so I'll likely start a thread if I can't find one that addresses the issue. Basically I'm trying to find out how to save pictures that were messaged to me only. I'm able to set it as my desktop or as a contact photo, but it doesn't appear in my gallery, and I'm afraid if I delete the thread, or change my wallpaper I'll lose the photo. The friend that sent it doesn't have the picture anymore either, so I'm really hoping I can figure out where it is, or how to access it other than in the message.

Guess I should have mentioned, I use the Galaxy Nexus, 1st edition. Loving it so far! I'm new to Android with this phone, but my husband has used it since version 2.1 and neither of us have any regrets yet!!

Welcome to the forum! I take it you're using the stock messaging app? Have you tried to long-press on the photo and save it? Only then will it show up in your Gallery.

Glad it worked! Nothing to feel bad about. Everything takes a while to become familiar with. Is this your first Android phone? A long press will be one of your best friends in the Android world.
