new to forum great phone but have a heck of a time getting things straightened out

let me say in advance sorry for the long post, but i got my first nexus in may and am on my third one, 1st one was fine untill end of june the touch screen was unresponsive, called verizon they sent me another one, 2nd one comes and from day 1 it wouldnt pick up a signal, i had it in cdma mode because my area dosent have 4g yet, also noticed battery life on was crap, well the third one came in yesterday and worked fine untill the afternoon, the phone had no sound, i found an app this morning that toggles the headphone jack and all is good for now. now without me knowing my wife called verizon last night and bitc#ed untill they said they were sending me a 16gig razr, she couldnt get ahold of me because of no sound issue so i couldnt tell them no, why would they send me an inferior phone to the one i have, in my opionion the only phone that is better then the g-nex is the s3, well now i have to call verizon and tell them i dont want the razr and fight with them for knows how long.

my other question is a tricky one, not sure if i can post it here but i was doing a lot of research and thinking about taking the phone to the dentist hint hint, but will that fix the issue with sound, can i load a rom or something, im guessing its a software problem due to being able to temp fix it with an app. any help would be appericated.

Not really sure what your asking for the first question..(lack of coffee) ....but I don't see big red sending out an s3, as its still practically brand new....but have you tried a factory reset by chance?

Sorry to hear about your issues with the gNex but the Maxx is not necessarily an inferior phone - each has its pros/cons...good luck and I hope you come up with an outcome you are happy with.

Welcome to the forum! I would try a factory reset before rooting and seeing if that fixes your sound issue. It's probably something hardware. If you want to try a ROM this phone is very easy to root and return to stock if you need to send it back because it was a hardware issue. There are plenty of people here to get you on the right track if you want to root it and try some ROMs. Check out the CDMA hacking and ROMs section. Just make sure you use a ROM that is for CDMA and not GSM and you'll be good to go

ive tried the factory reset and no luck, guess ill keep running this app untill it stops working, then figure out something. and sorry about the long winded post earlier, the first part was just me letting out frustration over big red, and im just saying for what i use the phone for the gnex is better then the razr they wanted to give me, i've never like motorola phones much, i like the funtionality of htc, samsung, etc phones. thanks again for the replies

well finally have an outcome im happy with, i was on the phone last night with big red for about an hour, talked to 1 tech guy which then sent me to his boss which then she sent me to her boss and low and behold my new GS3 comes in the mail today. it was a big suppriuse to me that they are doing this but it helped that one of their tech guys was rude to my wife last week, so in other words i probally wont be on this forum much anymore, i apperiacte all the help and the quick responses especaily from the adminastrators.
