New (soon to be) Nexus user

Hey there, soon-to-be GNex owner here (hopefully tonight!). I was happy to hear that a Nexus device was finally coming to Verizon once it was announced, which only made the last 5 months of my 2-year contract a very *long* 5 months I'm coming from a Droid X, which probably would have been enough of a phone for me for another year if not for the lack of a 4G LTE radio. I learned everything I know about rooting/theming/SBF'ing from that phone and it's still running strong...especially considering it survived a ton of drops and falls with no case with nothing more than some dented corners. With that said, the only thing that concerns me is the drop tests I've seen of the GNex, but I'll be getting a case for it ASAP since I know it's only a matter of time before I drop it. Happy to be here and hope to learn a lot.

I've been loving the phone (and the forums here) so far! I had it unlocked, rooted and ROM'd my first night with it lol I have yet to get a case for it (ive been considering getting a 3800mAh battery but havent pulled the trigger yet) and just had it drop for the first time (so that only took a week haha) from about 6 foot today out of my mailbox at work. It hit about halfway down on a hard plastic bin and then hit the floor (carpeted but it's pretty cheap office-ish carpet so not very cushy) landing face down. I was SUPER relieved to see that it came out of that without even a scratch, was definitely worried about the screen. The hunt for a battery and case has now been expidited.
