Just got the Galaxy Nexus last night! Need tips and such :)

    Hi!

First off, I just want to let you all know how much I freaking love my Galaxy Nexus! I finally have it in my hands haha. Anyway.. so I'm kinda a newbie here. I used to own an Iphone 3G for years now (the best choice I've ever made)... And I'm wondering if you guys could give me any recommendation for apps? So here's my "so-called wishlist"

    • Free Voice-call to cellphones or landlines. (Kinda like iOS's Talkatone)
    • Task Manager
    • Widgets?
    • Speed increase?
    • Games?
    • Or just basically anything that helps your wonderful Galaxy Nexus.

Oh yes and one more question: Where can I find cheap accessories for my GN online?

    Thank you so much~
    Live Long and Prosper

Congrats & welcome!! As far as an online source for accessories, I personally favor AccessoryGeeks.com.

    Tap'd from my GNex

Welcome to the forum! A task manager isn't needed and will often cause issues. Android does a fine job of managing tasks without an additional app. If you need to kill an unresponsive app, you should use the built-in task manager in settings > apps.

I'm actually from Canada.. and I don't think it would work here as it's only for people from the US

Google Voice + Sipdroid = free calls over wifi or data.

You've came to the right place to learn about Android and your best decision was moving away from Apple (sorry I can't start how much they lock down devices) to one of the most unlocked devices in the world.

Verizonwireless.com is currently selling oem extended batteries for 50% off ($25). At first glance it was as if they don't offer them but after about 20 minutes of scrolling their the site and searching for g'nex accessories different ways I finally found them. I buy all other accessories from ebay.

Enjoy your new phone and I hope some of this info helps!
