so from what I understand I would need to
    a) download fastboot and adb files and install them on the computer
    b) USB driver files for my samsung galaxy nexus and install those on the computer as well
    c) go into debugging mode on the phone and somehow unlock the bootloader
    d) then somehow copy the takju file downloaded from the google developer factory images page and put it no the device and somehow install it.
    e) somehow relock the bootloader when all that is done (i've read in places that this is recomended...)

do I have that right ?
now how exactly do i do all that ?
could we please move communication directly to email or facebook messenger or google messenger ?
    thanks a ton in advance

    Hello,
I have a galaxy nexus yakjuxw running 4.1 in India and I want to flash it with takju.
now i've done a fair bit of reading but i've come across some scary 'danger' and 'warning' signs so i don't want to go off experimenting half cocked.
I was searching the forums for a step by step fool proof guide when i came by your post to another desperate fellow member offering him your gracious help.
If you don't mind and could please help out I would love your expert guidance, I promise I will be the least possible bother.
to easier facilitate this you could very easily find me on both facebook and twitter with Dhruv Halwasiya

Hi thePhantom, As I understand you had a similar problem as mine with a stock jelly bean nexus getting in an infinite loop. You said I'd have to manually flash the rom. I am sorry if it bothers but I am a newbie to android. Can you tell how I can flash the rom? or maybe direct towards something that could help. It'd be of great help, I've been looking for a solution for 2 days.

Hi, I was reading a thread related to Galaxy Nexus update to Jelly Beans and you have responded based on build number. How did you decipher build number? Mine is ITL41D.I9250UGKK7. I'm still on ICS 4.0.1 and there is no update for my phone at all.

    Your help will be appreciated.

HI how are you? Im a new Galaxy Nexus owner and I noticed that the specs you posted about your nexus are the same as mine.
Yakju build 4.0.4 Imm76l. If we have Yakju builds are we guaranteed to get updates from google? Also, the battery seems to drain fast. Any tips? Just wondering if you have any general tips about the phone or things that I should consider doing to get the best experience from the phone.

Thanks in advance. My email is tommyred9@gmail.com.
