Never knew we had bad battery life on any of the builds. If you update your apps every 5 minutes, play angry birds for an hour, then you will use a lot of battery :-)

I realize that you're doing the whole "Depends on how you use the phone!" schtick - but I lost a ton of battery life from 2.1 to 2.2 using my phone the same way I do everyday. There might be something new that I'm not realizing - but I doubt it. I got great battery life with 2.1 and the battery life is pretty bad on 2.2. That said, it's still a great ROM and I'm still using it with no plans to switch.

Few things to try.....
1) is phone going into deep sleep? If not, your using more battery when the phone is "off"

2) maybe your phone isn't liking the kernel. Try different ones as each reacts different Depending on phone/apps /user

3) May have more things trying to sync on this version than previous versions.

There is no 1 answer that will work for everyone on battery life. Even though a user doesn't think anything is being done differently it can still be issues with 1 app syncing sooner or how Google now runs all of its newness

When you're not using the phone.. Deep sleep is what you want the phone to be doing to make sure nothing is waking it during non use.. Get CPU spy from market..
