    Make backups!

    My fellow Nexus flash-o-holics,

Lately with the JB ROMs my phone has been acting funny. My phone has been stuck in a bootloop with 2 different ROMs (JD's and JellyBelly, both excellent ROMs). This happened to me twice the past 2 days so I just wanted to spread the word about backing up your ROMs to your PC. Believe me, this will save you a TON of time later even if you have to revert back to stock (like I did). Learn adb and adb commands, they will save you so much time. Just wanted to warn all y'all about possible problems you may face with JB ROMs as they sourced from GSM version. These are two excellent ROMs and it's probably just my phone, but please save yourself the headache, stress, and rise in blood pressure by saving your ROMs to a PC or device other than your Nexus (I have a flashdrive specifically for my phone files). I'm RS over at DF, and haven't seen any problems here, but just wanted to spread the word around here. Have fun with JellyBean everyone! Hopefully the CDMA source gets released soon.

Oh yeah and one more thing..keep a backup on another device or flashdrive!

And if you do happen to read this thread if your phone does get stuck in a bootloop take a look at this as well: [Guide] CWM Touch JB Backup/ Restore and Flash new ROM - xda-developers

And np CJM, just trying to help out. I gotta frequent this forum more, but I haven't heard of any problems yet, or at least seen any, just want others to take some precautionary steps.

Thanks for the great advice Dezymond. I can't tell you how many times when I ask if they have a nandroid and the answer is no. Also backing up important photos and files to pc.

After flashing the jb rom I can't get anything to work for backups. My stock backup all my liquid ones they all fail. Even the original zip files for the rom won't boot up. The only thing that works is the jb rom which works great but battery life sucks.
Is there any way to clear all data besides factory reset inside the phone. The reason I ask is because it seems like touch recovery is not doing a good data wipe.

Are you doing all your wipes before restoring your backups?

Do you only do one data wipe? I personally do 3, rather spend the extra 30 seconds or so than have my phone screw up again and have to reflash a ROM all over again. One is probably good enough, but 2 extra data wipes can't hurt either. I've always practiced that and it never seems to fail.

Also, I've heard the touch version of CWR causes problems with JB roms, which could be the reason why I had all this trouble myself along with a handful of others. Some have said that the regular version of CWR seems to keep bootloop problems away, but whether that holds any water remains to be debated
