    Changing Kernels

I'm a Newb, so sorry in advance for stupid questions.
Yesterday I changed from Glados Kernel back to Lean Kernel. I wiped the cache and zipped in the Lean kernel, but my phone completely reset and wiped everything. I had to set up my phone like I factory reset. What is the proper steps to install a different kernel?
Yesterday I got really good battery life out of the Lean Kernel and Liquidsmooth 1.4.
Going to try Glados again today, maybe Franco later this week.

You don't have to wipe anything to flash a kernel. The main thing you want to do is to make sure you don't have anything "set as boot". If you encounter problems then you will have to wipe cache and dalvik before flashing kernel again.

Before you flash anything can you get back to stock? How to get back to stock using Odin

Have you backed up your files and pictures? I see too many desperate cries for help recovering deleted priceless pictures with no solution.
