wugs would be the easiest
Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.3 [Updated 02/24/13] This is what i used, very easy to follow, are you good on making backups? Nandroid? CWM? Just asking cuz i dont want you to get to far ahead of yourself ya know....i did lol....alot of very experienced peeps here too, very helpful!

Go with Wugs. I used it last night and work flawless for me. Just take your time. Follow all the steps. And be patient. It works great!

I am familiar with nandroid backups through cwm and can figure out rom and kernel installation. I was seeing some command prompts too root and wasnt sure if that was the best way.

Some tips to keep in mind while using mac's terminal would be to enter
cd/User/
and find your abd, fastboot, platform tools folder to change directory to so you can input terminal commands.
In order to use the droid-life article in terminal, simply add ./ before typing a command.
