No other pointers other than make sure you follow the steps for a clean install of AOKP. Wipe data/factory reset, flash ROM, flash Gapps, reboot.
Thanks Muji!!!! Doing a Nandroid now. So are people using the "touch" CWM? seems like a good idea... like i said, i've been out of this for the last month or so so i'm sure i missed a ton.... need to spend a few days refreshing on everything...

I'm not using Koush's touch recovery, but I am using his regular. I was using the touch beta that was developed by another team (can't remember the name ATM), but it went all wonky on me a while back.

if you care only about battery life, then Liquid Smooth and GummyNex are the best roms out there. check out my results for all roms that i tested:

I use touch CWM version 4.0.4. it works really well. Make sure to switch to version 4.0.4 if you are using 4.0.4 roms or updates. also rom manager won't work.

All these posts and no one is mentioning Apex ROM?

I just flashed it last night, it's supposed to have amazing battery life according to Apex ROM for Rooted Galaxy Nexus! [GSM/CDMA] [Great Battery Life][OC] | GalaxyNexusRoot.com
So far I love battery replacement circle with 99% inside, fact that I can add Menu to bottom bar, left of ICS back key and the fact that I can change colours of all those buttons and power widget in slide-down notification window.

Apex is a great ROM but it hasn't seen an update in a very long time (by active ROM standards)... and that's probably why it's fallen off the radar.

Edit: And pardon my bad manners, Welcome to the forum "Yoda"

Check out Axiom Patent Zero M1 runs great with Franco and Glados kernels.. My favorite so far... Its AOKP options with his rom tweaks... I've made it three weeks without changing which for me is a record lol

    Sent from my flashaholic G-NEX...

i concur, currently on AOKP 33 with Franco's r141 kernel. i have always had excellent results with every combo of AOKP AND FRANCO

Pretty much this. All I ever flash now is the nightly kernels. Maybe this will give me a chance to work on aesthetics....
