4.2 woes
Does anyone else agree that 4.2 is well.... Terrible.... Why would they release it!!! OK that's a bit much but....
The lock screen widgets are absolutely pointless, I can't even imagion how many pictures of the inside of my pocket I'm going to take... Is it really too much for some people to unlock the screen and open an app!?
The clock has become hideous and keeps opening when I unlock.
The menus don't match.... Sigh..... Theres more but I just don't like it.
I'm not here to just complain I do have questions just needed to get it off my chest!
Is there any way to disable the widgets thing? I could probably learn to live with everything else under protest
I say questions but that's is really. This is my first post by the way so... Hello!!!

Re: 4.2 woes
Welcome to the forum, selleck!
Do you have any screenshots? I would like to see how hideous this is and what I have to "look forward" to (Lol). From your description, I'm glad I'm still on 4.1.1 with the LTE version.

Re: 4.2 woes
I installed 4.2 and had numerous issues. Instead of doing the easy thing and rolling back to 4.1.2, I took the time and worked all the kinks out.
I've been running it 2 days now and am pretty pleased. Outside of working through the initial issues I haven't found anything to complain about. Quite the opposite in fact.
Performance is always my primary concern. My phone is every bit as snappy as it was before and sucks a bunch less juice.
The only app I've found that doesn't work on 4.2 (and it's a bigee) is the Amazon AppStore. I'm sure that'll be ironed out soon.
Though it's only been 2 days, I'm happy with the new version and have no intentions of going back.

I am confused about your post. You say 4.2 is terrible but your rants are on visual issues. All these issues can be changed by you. How is the functionality of 4.2 how is the performance? To me if the performance of 4.2 was terrible this would be something to take up arms on not aesthetic

Re: 4.2 woes
Yeah, I dunno, I like 4.2 quite a bit actually. I've yet to take a picture of my pocket, but I also haven't found much use for the widget screen on the lock screen: but I'm sure app developers will start making great apps/widgets for it soon.
To me it also feels faster and smoother than 4.1

Re: 4.2 woes
Think to fair we all have to wait and c what these guys do to it and not only that if anyone has been following it closely then we know they have had an hard job with this one. Few of the top guys have tweeted etc its been difficult. I tried 4.2 but I found it a touch lazy because of obvious reasons and watching TV was a non starter and as for widgets I can live without. But saying that I can't wait for it to start rolling in with all these great extras. But for me I'll be happy with a saucery 4.2 in my gnex for Christmas!!!!!
