    Liquid Smooth Jelly Bean Question

I'm new at all this. Had my phone for 4 days now.

So I flashed to this version of JB but it came without any gapps (no browser either). So I wanted to put some gapps on it and downloaded the stock gapps zip file. It now seems that my device has no usb indicators nor does Nexus Root Toolkit recognize any device being connected to it. The phone is rooted and unlocked or should still be.

So with no browser, and no built in USB support (as far as the specialty drivers are concerned, I do get the basic windows file explorer window at least) and I don't have permanent CWM installed. What's my next move?

What method did you use to unlock and root your phone? Do you have the newest version of the GNex drivers on your computer? Sometimes, if you download a new version of the drivers, plug the phone back in, you get it to see it. Can you get the phone to Recovery?

Before you do anything else get permanent CWM recovery on your phone. You really should not be flashing anything without it. Get back into recovery and see if it is permanent. If so then wipe data, cache, dalvik, flash rom, flash gapps, reboot into system.

Oops, I missed that it wasn't a permanent install. Thanks

I'm an idiot! Sorry to waste your time. I forgot to turn on USB Debugging with the Liquid Smooth build. I turned it on, and successfully installed the Gapps. Thanks for the replies and I will certainly put a permanent CWM on the phone.

No worries. Just take your time and take it step by step.
