    Help installing Jelly Bean

    Hi, I recently tried installing Jelly Bean using the method below on my GNEX (GSM):

    Method 1 - CWM recovery installed
    1) Download the correct update for your build on to your computer;
    2) Open the archive;
    3) Delete recovery folder;
    4) Go to folder - META-INF/com/google/android
    5) Extract updater-script with Winzip
    6) Open the extracted updater-script with Notepad++ (NOT regular notepad or wordpad)
    7) Remove the line saying: set_perm(0, 0, 0544, "/system/etc/install-recovery.sh");
    8) Save and move the new updater-script to the folder in the zip file (META-INF/com/google/android)
    9) Copy the zip file to /sdcard on your device;
    10) Reboot into CWM;
    11) Select "install zip from sdcard";
    12) Select "choose zip from sdcard";
    13) Select the update the you just copied to your device;
    14) Wait until it completes. Reboot. Done.

    After the reboot, I am still on 4.0.4. Can anybody please help?

    I am on the Yakju build so I downloaded and installed the yakju IMM76I from IMM76D file. After I perform a restart my CWM app doesn't work anymore eventhough it does have super user access.

    What error did your phone show when you installed the zip file?

    the file you downloaded is only for ICS 4.0.4. It's an incremental update for those who had the original yakju IMM76D and updated to IMM76I. If you are on IMM76I yakju already and want to install Jellybean official update, this is what you should download. http://android.clients.google.com/pa...I.f946a412.zip

    I've tried installing that one as well and I do get an error.

    After Verifying current system...I get:

    I'm sorry, but can you let me know how I can tell? I did have to manually install 4.0.4. I didn't do anything else prior to trying to install 4.1.

    saw it. i believe i know why it failed. your baseband is on XXKK6 which is an older baseband. you need to flash the XXLA2 radio found in the images of IMM76I yakju rom. i did a search on the link for you to flash the XXLA2 radio and this is what i got. http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...7&d=1333043348. you need to flash that first so that the JB update will be successful.
