If you're GSM.. Yakju.. 4.04 ro if you use Wugfresh's tool, enter the data about the phone (model type) it will grab the correct one for you
I've bought an unlocked Galaxy Nexus and i'm using a pre-paid Telstra SIM card, i'm stuck on 4.0.2 sigh. I don't want to ruin my warranty with Samsung or my extended warranty with Dick Smith.
I am stuck with 4.0.1
A friend told me to update using odin and a package from another site but I am not sure as I am using HSDPA.9 ,not GSM
and a non yakyubuild. He said it doesn't matter just go ahead and do it. ( He has a Galaxy SIII with 4.0.4 ).
Not sure if he is savvy or just trying to try something out on someone else's phone so no risk of bricking his phone.
Not willing to risk my warranty on a phone I have only had for a month.
Some advice would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
Stick with the Yakju build from https://developers.google.com/androi...s/images#yakju and you can't go wrong

If you do flash the stock Yakju, you will get the OTA for JellyBean
I should have mentioned that the Yakju build isn't what telstra have on the phone, as they are using Yakjuxw if you are wanting to remain on that build then you are at the mercy of telstra to release the update however the Yakju build is updated by Google.

The build he suggested to me came from android-advices,he didn't tell me if the phone needed to be unlocked or anything else.
Not sure about how to do this , will need more research on the toolkit to know roughly what to do.
Telstra sucks when it comes to updates ,pitch the phone for a sale and then leave you high and dry.
Well you may as well unlock the bootloader and leave it that way you may want to try out a 3rd party rom at some point
As for telstra, they won't be able to refuse to accept an unlocked nexus as it's a development phone! Having said that the manager of the local store here said "now don't go unlocking the phone!" I think she was getting the terms of unlocking was bootloader vs cellular unlock!

Thanks for that info, it helped clear up a couple of questions I had.
Still trying to make sense of the toolkit and how to use it, persistence and patience are the way for me and not my usual charging in with guns blazing and hoping for the best.
