Hi, im not very experienced and getting really confused with all these terminologies like:
Flash, rom, kernels, bootloader and etc...
Love android but sometimes feel like i need get Masters Doctorate just to setup a phone
Is there any way to download the 4.0.4 update without using a PC and not loosing all data?
Or an easier method that doesnt void your warranty?
Please help, i would be so gratefull for anyone who could even point me to right direction...
Love the Gnex fone but had so many unacceptable issues with it (battery, keyboard, random freeze
loop, display with grey/black kind of square boxes smudges on video playback...)
Just hoping update to fix most above issues otherwise will have to get rid of fone
Thanks in advance

+1 I wish there was a Youtube video on this

Not until its pushed OTA, unless you root, if you root you can flash just 4.0.4 and keep the stock rom if you wish.
-
If your worried about the warranty you can always revert back to stock and unroot/lock and vzw would never know, using wugfresh's root toolkit makes it very easy, ive done several times.
-
+1 for wugfresh toolkit. Literally a few clicks and everything else is done for you.
I haven't got a clue about all this stuff but just wanted more control of my device and try to learn from others that know more than me. Well worth it as pretty much anything is possible.
Also if you encounter any problems there are folks on here that go out of their way and then some to help you out. Believe me!

Hi everyone, I'm from Singapore and using the exact same baseband, kernel and build. Unable to upgrade to 4.0.4 either

Didn't work for me either.. But I'm hoping to receive 4.0.5 when its released here, that'll will make the wait worthwhile.

you're not getting any update because XW has only 4.0.2 as the latest

Any idea why XW has not been updated yet?
-
We can only speculate. Only google and samsung can answer that. So far for gsm only yakju, takju, yakjuzs and yakjuux have 4.0.4 updates
