Official Android 4.0.4 Galaxy Nexus Update

    Hey guys!,

Well if you didn't hear about it, Android has posted on their favourite social network that they will be rolling out the official Android 4.0.4 to UMTS / GSM Nexus S, the HSPA+ variant of the Galaxy Nexus, and the Wi-Fi Motorola Xoom.

Anyone who has received the update let us all know how it is and any changes if you can find them

    Love
    Tryan

Ugh I hate Verizon. It'll be weeks before this hits LTE devices

So it seems my original message was a bit tactless for the forum so I'll try again. My fellow cdma gnex owners. Verizon does not have the authority of pushing or not pushing the update. If you are looking to blame someone you should direct your anger toward Google. They have decided to not support cdma devices in aosp. So official otas will likely go to them first and then us. I hope this comment does not insult anyone in our gnex family.

AOSP and OTA are two different things. One has nothing to do with the other.

Aosp and OTA are separate but VZW OTAs are handled by VZW because of the lte issues with aosp. Which is also why the lte xoom has not been officially updated to ics but the wifi only xoom is already on 404.

See my question to you would be:

Why would Verizon take on a phone that isn't going to update on their network? Once you have a good think about it taking on a responsibility like a Nexus device into a company know that it isn't going to be updated by Google, Verizon should be stepping up to the plate as a big hitter and doing the updates them self and a lot quicker to keep customers happy. Verizon are to blame in this situation.

    Hi!

My Galaxy Nexus has the update to 4.0.4 available!! But I think I'll wait a few days to see that there are no problems with this release

    Hi! I'm from Spain.

The upgrade page on the phone says it needs to download 37.4 MB and it has improvements in performance, increased stability and bug fixes. Also Android Market has been replaced by Google Play (I already had Google Play, so I don't know what it means).
