You can change it to Yakju without any issues. It is in my humble personal opinion that doing Yakju won't void warranty as long as:
    1. You keep everything stock
    2. You keep the phone unrooted
    3. You re-lock the bootloader

I'm not from Samsung or Google so I wouldn't know if they have means to see if you have changed the firmware to other than what came with it but if and when the time comes you need to return for warranty purposes, I think they will check only if the bootloader is locked or unlocked. Seeing that it is locked would mean it is "untouched". Samsung Nexus phones have too general a firmware unlike their non Nexus ones wherein there are specific firmwares for regions/countries and it can easily be seen and distinguished thru the builds. I'm no expert of course but if you want my opinion on this, then i say you won't have any issues.

Well, the thing is that I never had any signal issues with the IMM76D to begin with so I cannot compare. It would be nice to check on those who had problems with it. I'll be monitoring this one though to see if I get any problems. Hopefully none as well.

    Hrmmm

I'm tempted to flash back up to 4.0.4 from the factory image but then there is no guarantee I will get the new update via OTA. ( I still haven't gotten my OTA for the initial 4.0.4 update )

That and I don't feel like having to setup my phone all over, again.

for what it's worth i only had to setup once when i went from yakjuzs to yakju. any new updates even if manually done won't delete your data

i guess the only thing for you to do would be to check out a friend using the same network who has had the update or test it yourself. in case you want to try it out, you can flash the full rom for 4.0.4 then do the update here: Guide: Update from Yakju 4.0.4 IMM76D to Yakju 4.0.4 IMM76I
