Yeah, thephantom, I had to check my post after Tapatalk sent it out, and discovered the autocorrect-failure. I have since started using a different keyboard. Boo and Yah!
No, you don't need to be rooted. But you do have to be unlocked. If your not unlocked you lose all your data when you do it.
Install the gnex toolkit and the update file. Put your phone in fastboot mode and have usb debugging on. With the toolkit your interested in option 9, which is the temporary root with cwm. It let's you install the update from your sd card.
I updated my Galaxy Nexus last night from the factory image provided from Google's site. Worked like a charm but now I am experiencing problems where my cellular connection just drops after awhile and the only way to get it back is to reboot the phone.
Wonder if I should get a dedicated sim card for it? Right now I am using the micro sim with an adapter that was in my iPhone 4S.
