My android is currently 4.0.2 so I started this process

    C:\nexus>adb devices
    * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
    * daemon started successfully *
    List of devices attached
    0149BCAA0600C00A device

    C:\nexus>adb reboot-bootloader

    C:\nexus>fastboot devices

    C:\nexus>fastboot oem unlock
    < waiting for device >

At this point the android screen has a big green arrow box labelled start pointing at the power button and up and down arrows beside the volume controls, and I'm waiting waiting waiting...

What went wrong and what do I do?

nothing went wrong. you need to go to device manager and reinstall/update drivers for your phone because it has to be read twice. once in adb mode (which you have done successfully) and another in fastboot mode. may i suggest disconnecting and reconnecting the device to your laptop/pc. you're on the right track, don't worry.

Could we get a similar set of specific instructions for upgrading from 4.0.4 to 4.1.1?

    Hello

I live in the middle east andI gotta new GSM GNexus phone from a store. The phone is not tied with any carrier. when I bought it, it had. 4.0.2 on it. Thre days ago only, I got an OTA update to 4.0.4 with the following build information:

    Baseband version: I9250XXLA2

    Kernel Version: 3.0.8-gda6252b. android-build@vpbs1 #1. SMP PREEMPT Fri Apr 13 11:35:09 PDT 2012

    Build Number: IMMK76K.I9250.JPLET1

Given the above info, here are my questions:

Does my phone have the standard yakju build that will allow me to get google OTA updates to JB ?

If the answer is no should I fash my phone the yakju standard build in order to position it for google OTA updates to JB? Basically, I would like to update to have my GNexus get google OTA updates. Any infi will be appreciated

Your unit is yakjujp. If you want jellybean now, you have to flash yakju ics 4.0.4 to get it. If you are willing to wait, you will eventually get jellybean on your unit but we don't know exactly when

    Jellybean on my Galaxy Nexus
