    galaxy nexus camera problem

    Hello everyone,


    first of all sorry for my mistakes in english language.


    i just got my new samsung galaxy nexus and i think my camera has an issue. when i'm taking pictures in dark places, appears white line on the edge on top of the screen. this line dissapear on taken picture (it is not visible on taken pictures, only it is visible when taking pics.) so i am asking.. is this normal or it shouldn't be like that? should i return the phone?

    No it shouldn't be there unsure what would cause this are you rooted..or stock

    it is stock, it is 3 days old phone an i didnt touch any settings.

    That isn't normal... If it was me - I'd try to get a replacement since it's so new. Not sure if it's a big issue or not, but I get scared when I see things on the screen that shouldn't be there!

    i just tried to reset the phone but it is still there :S. i also called the store where i bought it, and they told me that i can't get new phone, only that i can give the phone to the service. i dont know what to do :S

    Looks to me like that's the edge of your display and you're getting some backlight bleed-through. That's a hardware defect. If the vendor you purchased the phone from won't help you, I think your only option is to have Samsung replace it under warranty. There may be a Samsung service center around where you live. Try checking into that.

    I tend to agree with @Mujibar. It does appear to be some kind of bleed through. Does it happen on any other application, besides the camera? If not, have you tried a third party camera application? Not to say that will fix the issue, because something is wrong, but it may give you a better idea as to what the issue is.

    Regarding the store's no return policy, it seems odd that they are so rigid on returns, especially one as new as yours. I had something similar happen to my Moto Xoom. I attempted to return/exchange it, and the service desk was absolutly rigid. Although when I politely requested for the manager, she apologized profusely, and not only replaced the Xoom, she threw in a screen protector, headphones, and a 32 GB SD card for it. In thanks, I wrotea letter to her district manager. I would probably give the store another shot, then go through Samsung, unless the Samsung center is close, then go there.

    uhh... three days old? i would just "return" it... and buy a different one from a coorporate store... or a different store

    The OP is probably not in the US. Sounds like a return is possible, but simply walking into a corporate store may not be an option.

    This happens only when i'm taking the pics. i would not say that this is the back light bleed-trough, because as i wrote, it appears only when i'm shooting the pics. appears in the form of line and not in form of cloud.

    i think the camera (hardware) is positioned obliquely. i tried other apps but none has image to the top edge of screen.
