Enabling AdHoc Networking / Connect to AdHoc Devices

    Hello!

I did a few cursory searches and didnt find anything regarding the GNex or ICS specifically but this has been done in Gingerbread and Honeycomb -

Is there a way to enable adhoc networking? I realized this was missing while trying to connect to my PLX Kiwi Wifi OBDII antenna hooked to my car

(the OBD reader sends vehicle info to the Torque app and shows parameters the car's computer is picking from the sensors)

So is there a way / app?

[[for reference i have a GSM Galaxy Nexus on 4.0.2, root/superuser loaded using Wug's Toolkit]]

    Thanks!

just bumping this thread from what i found on XDA

[**SOLVED**] 2.3.12 No more tether under ICS? ICS limits ad hoc network connections - xda-developers

apparently ICS limits adhoc networking - this may be a solution, though i havent tried it, will look to provide feedback if it works! (or not, but lets hope it does)

Have you test the solution above? CM9 failed. Anyone who successes in GN ad hoc please tell me the ROM you are using.

You need a modified wpa_supplicant file in /system/bin. Maybe try one of the files from an ICS rom for tablets. I can pull mine and try it, but it won't be until tonight.
