    Desktop mode in browser

Having a hell of a time keeping my browser showing desktop versions of web pages. I've done the about:debug thing a hundred times and it keeps defaulting back to showing mobile versions of pages after i reopen the browser. Anyone know a fix for this? I'm aware of the "request desktop" checkbox in the settings tab, but i wud like something permanent if possible. I like the browser other than this though. Thanks for the help.

This does not answer your question, but the Dolphin HD browser is a nice substitute to stock...

I like the stock browser. Firefox is still a little slow and no flash. Just need a way to turn on the desktop debugging mode permanently.

If you go into the browser and click the menu button top right there is a choice to request desktop site. I am not entirely sure if that setting has to be done for each site you go to or not. I haven't experimented with it much.

I've played with it quite a bit, as Garmelin mentioned you can set it up to request a desktop site via the settings. If you're so inclined you can go into Settings/Labs and enable Quick Controls for an easier way to request a desktop site.

Yeah im trying to get around having to go into settings/request desktop everytime i go to a site that has a mobile equivelant. Should just be able to keep the desktop mode on consistently.

This is the browser I am using now. Great stock ICS browser with some added features you are looking for like changing the user agent of the browser. https://market.android.com/details?i...93c2VycGx1cyJd

Yeah so I downloaded dolphin to see what it was about because I had the same problem, I wanted to see desktop sites instead of mobile....dolphin has a setting called user agent....put that to desktop and it will always load the desktop site instead of mobile, at least so far its done so....
