JR0030 Jelly Bean update won't install. HELP
So I got the official notification to update to 4.1 finally and it's not installing correctly. It downloads and begins to install. The progress bar gets to maybe 20% and it stops, then the picture on-screen changes to Andy laying down with a red triangle coming out of his chest. It sits there for a minute or so, then reboots with 4.04 again. I called Verizon when this happened the first time and they just asked me to pull the battery and try it again. The update only occasionally pops up because it's not available just by hitting the "check for updates" button yet. Either way, I've tried it about 6 or 8 times and get the same result every time.
Has anyone seen this? What can I do to fix it? I'm running stock, non-rooted 4.04.
Thanks in advance.

Re: JR0030 Jelly Bean update won't install. HELP
Have you ever rooted the phone or anything and put it back to stock? Or did you happen to buy it off someone or get it straight from Verizon? Did it come with 4.0.4 on it or did you get the update for it from 4.0.1? If so I'm guessing that took just fine with no problems.

Sorry about that. Never been rooted. I bought it from Verizon new when they first came out around Xmas/New Years last year, so yes, it's updated from 4.0.1. That update installed without any problems.

Re: JR0030 Jelly Bean update won't install. HELP
Ok, try powering off your phone, then hold vol up + vol down + power until you feel it vibrate. Then use the volume buttons to scroll to recovery and use the power button to select it. At the screen with the android laying on its back, press vol up + power and it should bring you into a blue colored menu. User the volume keys to scroll to "wipe cache partition" and use power to select. Then choose the yes option to wipe it. When it's done scroll and choose reboot system now. It will take longer to boot up this time but give it a minute and it'll go through. The next time you get the notification for the update the theory is that it wiped the old one from the cache and downloads a new one and hopefully works for you.
I would recommend backing up your SD card before messing with anything either to your computer or to a cloud service. Since our phones don't have an SD card I recommend everyone back their stuff up every now and then just because. I've seen too many lose precious pictures or videos because they have had to do a factory reset or something. I don't take a lot of pictures or anything so I try to back my stuff up at least once a month.
Try doing that and see if it will download and install for you. The jellybean update is amazing compared to 4.0.4, it's worth doing a little work to get it on
