No data signal on AT&T

I bought a Galaxy Nexus from Bell Mobility in Canada a while ago, and have recently moved to the US, where I got an AT&T SIM card and have put it into my phone, and get phone/text service fine. I can't, however access most things utilizing data service. I tried going into my settings and selecting the data network to AT&T, but that didn't work. Could there be something I need to do since I got the phone in Canada to make the phone work properly in the US? I hear about ROMs and such, and wonder if I need to root and install one?

Also, the Galaxy Nexus is running Jelly Bean, if that matters at all.

You should not have to root or run custom rom for your data to work. It may be that AT&T has not provisioned your data correctly or you may have to reset your APN settings in Settings>Mobile networks.

I don't see anything in that menu about resetting APN networks :/ Is there something I'm just not seeing?

Actually I see something about APN there now that I actually engage my brain, but it is saying something about singular, is there a way to know what I need to set it to for AT&T?

Figured out what it was through searching... the AT&T go phone SIM $50 a month plan for unlimited talk/text/data doesn't give you data if you have a smartphone, they require that you pay an extra monthly fee for a data plan with one... if it isn't obvious through my text, it pisses me off a bit, and I'll still be on my Nexus, but on another service starting in a month
