How to flash AOKP on stock JB (Locked bootloader and unrooted)?
Hey guys,
I have had several issues related to Bluetooth on my GNex. Someone suggested that it could be due to a faulty firmware and asked me to flash a custom ROM. After doing a lot of research, I feel that AOKP is the best.
I want to flash AOKP but I am an absolute noob at it. How do I flash AOKP JB ROM? My bootloader is unlcoked, my device is not rooted. In simple words, everything is plain STOCK at the moment.
The only thing that I have done so far is that I have downloaded the Nexus toolkit and set up the drivers. My phone can be detected in ADB mode when turned on (with USB debugging) and also in fastboot mode when booted in fastboot. That is, my drivers are set up.
Please help me. Thanks.

I never used toolkits, just adb. I'd go back to where you got the toolkit. There's usually instructions there.
Tapped from a Galaxy Nexus using Xparent ICS

From what I can see, the only thing you must do now with the toolkit, if i am not mistaken you are using mskip galaxynexus toolkit, same than me. You must install CWM Recovery in order to install custom ROM. There is an option in the toolkit for this. Note that before installing this you must use the option to rename the original Recovery, if not, after the ROM installed and a full reboot, Original Recovery will come back and you will have to redo the process if you wanna change ROM.
Once CWM recovery is installed, since you are already unlocked, you just have to follow the installation steps for you custom ROM and you should be good to go.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Backup you stuff in case something happens. With CWM Recovery you can perform a NANDROID which is an image of your current phone. Make sure you select the ROM that is for your phone (GSM, SPRINT, VERIZON) as they are different for every phone.
There is alot of info in this forum for you to find and get ready to install your custom ROM. Take your time and it all should be fine.

You said you were using Nexus Toolkit. If its the toolkit I think it is (Galaxy Nexus Toolkit made by mskip) there is an option for this. Option 5. Rename Recovery Files.
Then to install the new CWM Recovery it's option 6.
Hope this answered the question. If not, maybe I am mistaken which toolkit you are using. Sorry if its the case.
