Instant Upload Photos Can't Be Deleted

When I go to the Gallery on the Nexus it shows my Pictures Album and Instant Upload Album. I want to erase the photos from the Instant Upload but I can't find the option. A delete option shows up until you select a photo and then you only have the option to send the photo.

I noticed that yesterday and tried to remove the pics while connected to the pc and couldn't find the folder...forgot about it until now. I don't think they exist as duplicate photos, just duplicate thumbnails. I believe its a google plus thing. I'll look into it tomorrow, but I'm sure there's somewhere in google plus to disable it...I hope.

You'll have to use the long route.

    • Go to Apps and click on Google+
    • Click on uninstall updates.
    • Go to Accounts and Sync and check if Sync Google Photos is ticked or even present. Make sure it isn't.
    • Go to the Google+ app
    • Log in but make sure you do not choose Instant Upload
    • After logging into the app, go to setting and double check if the Instant Upload setting aren't ticked.
(Go the Account and Sync and check there as well if Sync Google Photos isn't ticked if you don't want to have the Picasa albums as well)
    • Go to Gallery to confirm the Instant Upload album is gone.

Google+ was one of the apps I disabled on my phone, I was looking all over for a way to disable syncing after I read about it somewhere, thanks Ves for the detailed instructions. While I probably won't ever use G+ on the phone it's good to know how

Just don't log into G+ and you should be safe then. The Gallery seems to be linked to G+ for some reason. Not sure why Google did that.

Thank you so much for the info. I ended up finding a place to clear the cache and data under the settings/app menu. You got me started in the right direction. It's been driving me crazy for 2 days. Thanks again.

Did you clear data in your gallery app or your Google + app? Did you lose anything else??

Edit : I'll clear Google +data since it'll all sync back up anyway..

ok so i deleted the instant upload pix on the Google+ website, and then I went to my phone and uninstalled the updates for google+, than I cleared data and force stopped and disabled the app... now in my gallery, i only have two folders, one for old pix that transferred over, (pictures), and one for camera shots....works awesome... also you may have to refresh gallery which is in the menu button... after you've disabled and cleared the data for google+.
