Wifi connected, but no Internet access

    Hello,

While I really enjoy my Galaxy Nexus, I am stumped trying to solve my connectivity issue. Here's the problem:

Using the WiFi my GN connects to both a WEP and WPA/WPA2 routers at my father in laws.
The strength seems to fluctuate using both (WEP & WPA/WPA2).
The settings show that the GN is connected, but in both cases when I open up different webpages I get no connection.
No connection using Google Chrome, Google, Firefox or Opera

My gmail and yahoo mail also (as you would expect) not update.

The signal shows that it is connected, but why I have no Internet access I have no idea.

My GN has been excellent connecting to free access points for months now. This issue is completely new as of Thursday evening.

    Thanks for your help.

    Scott

What color are your WiFi signal bars when it says you are connected? If they are grey then you are connected to the router but not to the internet. That would be a problem with the router. If they are blue then it is saying you are connected to the internet and there is another problem.

The Wifi bars are gray - two bars at present.

I meant to mention that I was able to connect to the Internet using my 4G.

Gray means no internet access. Try and restart your router.

    Hi,

I turned off the routers and that did not solve the problem.

I removed the battery and that also did not solve the problem.

Try forgetting the network and then connecting again and see if it will pick up the internet.

    Hi,

    Still doesn't work.

I turned on my data and everything works seamlessly. Too bad I have a pay as you go plan with Virgin.

I found an open Wifi networks and was unable to connect.

Returned home and now - ahhh! - I cannot access my home Wifi network. I'm confused and frustrated about this sudden change.

Help requested from the Help Squad.

Another attempt: I turned off my avast antivirus and tried to access the internet without success.

I doubt it's a phone issue. Can you access wifi with other devices? Have you tried resetting the modem itself or check the router settings for security limitations?
