    Hi,

I' getting the following error when trying to root my gn with v1.4:
exec 'system/bin/sh' failed: Exec format error (8)
Does anyone know what this means and how to solve it?

    Regards and Thanks, Frank

I think the experts here may be better able to handle this, but did you make sure all drivers were loaded onto your computer through WUG's before connecting your phone (this process can take a while, took my computer about 15 minutes til it was done, you have to wait until it tells you to connect your phone), and are you selecting the correct root (LTE or GSM). Other than that, it has been months since I used it, so as I mentioned, I will leave the rest of the support to the resident experts, good luck

Did you install the toolkit at the root of your drive?

Hello. In the future, rather than starting another thread for this (especially with this thread title which implies my entire program doesn't work), I would have appreciated it if you just tried contacting me first, or tried posting your problem in the main support thread. I check it regularly, and I try my best to respond to all inquiries. That said, I believe your storage may be corrupted. I would advise reflashing stock with my toolkit and then try rooting again. Also, did you make sure to select the right model type? What model type do you have?

Hello WugFresh, I really apologize for the thread title. I didn't mean to make your great work look bad. Actually it worked all fine until this error occured. And it was the fiirst time that I had the courage to try since your tool is so good documented and makes it llok real simple. So the unlock worked fine. I will try to reflash the stock and try rooting it again. I opened this thread as I didn't know how to get in touch with you directly. Model type is correct, but I did not install it in the root of c:. Could this also cause the error? Regards Frank

Yes...it needs to be installed at the root of the drive...that's why I asked...

No problem. Yes, install it to default location, which is:
    C:\Wugs_GnexRootToolkit.v1.4

However I don't think that would cause the error you got.
