Galaxy unlock screen appears less than 1 second, wake up issue

Don't know if it's related to root or unlock bootloader.

Yesterday I used toolkit v7 to root and unlock my GN. All went very well. This morning, when I pressed power button to wake up the phone, the unlock screen came up for less than 1 second then the phone turned black screen. I didn't even have chance to slide the bar to unlock it. 2nd time I was successively unlocking it by sliding extremely fast in less than 1 second, then the screen turned to black again. However, you still can feel vibration when you touched the black screen, meaning the phone was actually working.

What I found was I have to repeat below steps 5 to 7 times to finally have stable unlock screen
1. press power to wake up, unlock screen flashes for 1 second and the phone turns black screen immediately
2. press power to make it sleep mode (still in black screen)
3. repeat first step

Anyone has similar issue and solution to help?

I am still with stock rom 4.0.4, only unlock bootloader and root, nothing else.

Welcome to the forum. I have never heard of this issue but something is definitely not right. The first thing I would try is doing a soft reset (battery and sim pull for few minutes and reinsert and reboot). Do you still have factory recovery or CWM recovery?

Well, still has same issue. I will wait for a few days, if problem still exists, I may return or send to samsung repair center. Not a good experience as I just switched from iphone.
