Angry Galaxy Nexus, Update to 4.04 accidentally... Need to reverse to 4.01

    Hola awesome forum of peopleness.

Background: Wireless - Bell Canada - GSM - 4g/4glte etc.

    What happened:

New phone friday, Galaxy nexus of awesome.
    Popup - There's an update available :O
Chose to update: 4.0.4....???? from 4.0.1...

    No more 4g... stuck 3g...

    Want 4g back...

Tried unlocking phone, cwm, then miui vicious 4.04. (No 4.01), Still no 4g.

Goal: Revert to 4.0.1 or 4.0.0, or 4.0.2

    I have found: http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html

    H
owever, they are not .zips, or functional bootable installable images.

Can anyone help me locate a stock GSM 4.0.0 - 4.0.2 ICS for my GNex? I want my 4g back. I have the 4g sim card, tested in alternate phones, 4g works..

    Thanks!

You've got the right link. Many unzip programs should be able to unzip/extract a .tgz file...if not, just download something like winrar or 7zip to extract it.

Not too sure what happened but have you checked or reset your APN settings? menu> settings> wireless controls> mobile network settings> access point names> menu> new apn

Before you flash anything can you get back to stock? How to get back to stock using Odin

Have you backed up your files and pictures? I see too many desperate cries for help recovering deleted priceless pictures with no solution.

Where would I "unzip" it? (specifically). I have both windows and linux, and linux seems to talk to the phone better... ie, I followed commands blindly, and it somehow worked. (unlocking).

I have pda.bell.ca there, and that's the correct one. I'm more then happy to try another for kicks.

You can unzip to your platform-tools folder in the SDK...the same folder as your adb.exe and fastboot.exe, or you can just extract wherever and then download fastboot from that link...place it in the same folder as wherever you decide to extract to.

Once you have the unzipped files in a folder with fastboot, boot your phone into bootloader mode and connect to your computer.

Then open a command prompt, and type "fastboot devices" <enter>. If a serial number is listed after using that command, you should be good to go to step 5 in that link.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Just tried a bit ago, did some testing, so far so good. Just have to see how far it goes, and if it plays nice with all. 4g is back, and soon I hope more.
