Different Attachments in Gmail
In Gmail when I go to attach a file, the only file options I get are in my Gallery. Is there a way to access other files through the Gmail client?
I am well aware that a file explorer will allow me to view and send other files, but it does not allow me to attach a file within a reply thread.
Thanks in advance.

Did you happen to at one point select gallery as default.
Try downloading the app "astro" from the market and once downloaded, go back into your email & select attach... Do you get more options now?
~to powerful to fall into the wrong hands~

Thanks for the feedback. I had Root Browser installed, and it doesn't pop up as an option for adding an attachment.
i have this EXACT same issue! one would have figured you would have been able to attach other files in the gMail application other than just pictures! i downloaded astro file manager but astro canNOT find documents or other files to attach. only pictures! so lame!
is there any workaround to this issue?
What kind of files are you trying to attach?

just a simple "doc" file.

I can then select astro to browse files on my internal storage. I also have documents to go installed but it doesn't show in the list above but I can find my word docs via astro.
I know that doesn't solve your issue but it is possible.

this is what it looks like for me from the gMail app using astro. if i went from the astro app itself, it would show the sample files that documents to go provides. i would have uploaded the other screenshots that i took using the astro app directly, but windows explorer keeps on freezing when i try to transfer pictures. i'll have to restart my computer and try again. i just wanted to post what i was able to successfully transfer before i restarted.
Ya know, I assumed I could attach any file using Astro, but I just tried with a pdf file and saw the same as you.
