    Clock Work Recovery issue?

I can't seem to flash into clock work. I have tried directly through rom manger and rom toolbox. Either way same result. Green android dude is lying on his back, chest open, and a red triangle with an exclamation mark. What does that mean and what do I do about it?

I have boot into clock work manually by holding down the power and the volume down key. At the top of the screen in small red letters it says odin. What is odin? I have the green arrow that says start. Points towards the power button. Green android dude is standing up. Beneath him it says it's downloading, but it doesn't seem to do anything. There is also a message stating that I shouldn't do something, which I didn't understand nor recall. What's that about?

    Thanks!

The screen you're describing is Download mode and is used to push files to your phone via PC software called Odin. It is accessed by holding the Volume down button and power button when powering on the phone. To get into bootloader mode (and ultimately, recovery) you hold BOTH the Volume up and volume down buttons and then press the power button. Then use the volume rocker to navigate to Recovery and select with the power button. As for getting ClockworkMod Recovery installed properly, check out this guide.

Thank you. It was an easy install from the market with my droid x. I thought it was the same with the nexus.

I think you can still install it via ROM Manager, but you have to delete that file first to get it to stick.

How can I install Rom manager, after deleting rom manager? Do you mean un-install , than reinstall from the market?

Yes, that's what he's saying. Install Rom Manager from the market, then use Rom Manager to install CWM Recovery.

No, he's talking about the "recovery-from-boot.p" file. Install the CWMRecovery from inside ROM manager, but you have to use a file manager to go in and manually rename the file or delete it in order for Recovery to stick. Otherwise, you need to reflash recovery with ROM MAnager each time you reboot if you want to reboot into recovery.
    From the XDA thread:
    How to Install ClockworkMod

    1. Install Root Explorer from the market and delete /system/recovery-from-boot.p *Mount as R/W first*

Thank you! Deleting that file and re-flashing, was just what I needed to do.
