Phone not Charging while powered on?

Help! My phone isn't charging while powered on. It will charge fine while powered off, so I know it's not a problem with my wall charger. Not sure what I've done. Any suggestions?

Is this still the case after leaving it plugged in for some duration (say, 10 minutes)? I've noticed on several devices that the charge cycle will not begin immediately, but will after some brief time period.

Figured it out, but I had to go to my verizon store. It was a bad plug. Through some different tests we finally determined it was the little plug where your usb cable connects. Luckily they just swapped one out for me. Thx

Indeed, it it is the damn plug. I moved the plug alittle towards the center and gave it a nudge inwards and then the problem was solved, and i had that issue for over 1 week. Store wouldn't take back import phone and service would have taken too long! Found resolution here: Osinter – Smartphone OS Resource » Galaxy Nexus: Will not charge when powered on
