I rarely use superuser app. Chainfire's supersu for me is better. Here's the latest which works on my jb gnex and n7 http://download.chainfire.eu/212/Sup...erSU-v0.96.zip

That has the superuser.apk file in it. So actually, using SuperSU is using both correct? Do you just flash the zip from SD card in recovery like you would su.zip?

Yup - just flash it in CWR. And the cool thing is that you can natively do a temporary unroot (i.e. watching one of your movies on Flixster that you had downloaded to your sdcard) without using VooDoo. VooDoo tends to screw things up eventually (for me) even if I did everything right forcing me to reflash a backup.

It has the binaries that Superuser uses. But uses those resourfes more appropriately and efficiently.

Can I flash it with tempoarary Clockwork recovery or do I need permanent? I want stock recovery after flashing.

Also, I did all my Titanium backups with Superuser. If I root with SuperSU will I be able to restore those backups?

You can do it either way - temporary or permanent. The key is as long as you're in CWR at the time you flash it. You can even do it in Google play if you have Superuser. But read Chainfire's liturature extensively. As he explains some specific things in a way that only he can. I prefer to flash it in recovery. But that is strictly my preference.

As far as Titanium Backup, you're golden as long as you have your backup (no amount of magic in the world will restore a backup back if you don't have record of it on your phone, cloud, or computer . I have played my "stupid card" a couple of times and now I have a copy of the Titanium Backup on my computer, in the cloud, and along with 3 micro SD cards. Lmao!) SuperSU is a type of Superuser that uses the same scripts and binaries that the first type did, but in a smoother, all-in-one type setup. It just needs some sort of medium - or liaison, if you will, to access the functionality.

I'm with all the Mods, Rescue Squad personnel, and all the people who have way more knowledge and experience than I. I can only speak from an *amateur* level when I say that I feel SuperSU runs smoother and a touch faster. It very well could be placebo. But it has more options native inside the actual app itself. And seems more versatile and smooth.
