Question about upgrading to JB

OK I am running into the same problem I ran into when I tried to update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4, my camera keeps locking up, anytime I try to take a picture, it takes it but then it freezes, and nothing I can do, camera refuses to do anything, I can hit key to say go back to appdrawer and like 5 minutes later I get a message that Gallery force close.

I don't understand why this is happening. Any ideas?

I definitely did wipe everything in CWM before installing.

Check to see if you have two gallery apks. Which gapps did you flash? I believe it's an issue with proper gapps.

this is the one i downloaded and installed

Also the order I did the install was:



Wipe out Data, Wipe Cache, Wipe Davlik, Wipe Battery


Then install Xenon ROM, then right away without rebooting install the above gapps


I just looked in /system/app and only have one, it is called Gallery2.apk and date is Aug 08

ok here is an interesting update, I went into settings, apps, and opened gallery and cleared cache, and data.

Now it seems to be working fine.

I guess I will see what happens, other then this issue, phone is lightning fast, and smooth so far. Thanks for all the help.

You do not need to go back to stock. I would definitely go to the latest CWM and then JB bootloader is recommended. Are you on the latest radios as well? FC04/FC05.

I'm using the JRO03O stock VZW Jelly Bean Rom and I realized that my radios are FF02. I cannot find where I can get FF05 could you direct me to it?

Actually FF02 is now the newest radio. You are good to go.

Hey Paul- It's been like 6 months since I've been on here. I'm trying to get to JB from ICS Sourcery V2.0. I'm trying to download the newest CWR but when I click on your link and open the CWR for the Verizon Nexus it just brings up a page of crazy text with symbols. any thoughts? Also I noticed you referenced "fastboot". I think this is something that came about after my days of flashing. what is fastboot?

You can get the latest CWM recovery from here. Download the recovery file and place it in your android sdk folder where you have fastboot.exe installed. Open command prompt.

fastboot flash recovery (name of your file starting with recovery and ending with .img)
