GNex Toolkit by Mskip or Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit by WugFresh?

I've had my galaxy Nexus for a few weeks now and am ready to root. I've been reading the threads and see there are two toolkits:
    GNex Toolkit 5.5 by Mskip
Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit 1.3 by WugFresh

Now I'm new to Android and haven't rooted anything before. Would one of these be better for someone like me? They both sound very complete and reliable. I going to root but will probably want to install 4.0.4 and a different ROM at some point too.

    Many thanks,

    Tom

Either one is top notch, both are easy to follow, pretty much your choice. I used wugfresh 's to root mine. To upgrade to 4.0.4 you will not need to use them but you could if your more comfortable that way. I personally did not, I used clockworkmod to flash it. I can only speak for wugfresh 's root toolkit, it is very easy to follow, the sooner you do it the better because it will wipe all data as soon as you unlock and root. I will post back with some more threads for your reading enjoyment in a few, cool?

Many thanks, doubleblackD, for the information. I did read the Newbie's Guide before but probably should read it several times more.

So installing a ROM requires installing the appropriate kernel first or is it part of the ROM when it's flashed?

ROMs typically come packaged with kernels. If you want to change up the kernel, you'll have to flash it after flashing the ROM.

Either of the toolkits should be easy to use. You may have more luck getting help w/ troubleshooting using Wug's as I think more people around here have used it and are familiar with it.

Thanks all. I think I'll wait for version 1.4 of Wug's toolkit and give it a go.

Thanks again. This is a great forum.
