Guys 1.0 works!!!!
This is a discussion on Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.3 [Updated 02/24/13] within the Galaxy Nexus Hacking & Mods [LTE/CDMA] forums, part of the Galaxy Nexus Development category; Guys 1.0 works!!!!...
So I just attemped the long-hand method(so to speak) at droid life. Had the same problem not finding the elusive yes or no choice...is this a larger driver issue? Not just that the one click coding isn't quite there yet? I no longer see any android 1 in device manager just android phone with the great yellow !...I've tried multiple drivers now and nothing quite seems to budge the phone.
Drivers:
- Samsung Driver - this installs general Samsung driver
- Pdanet Driver (32 bit or 64 bit) - this installs the Android 1.0 driver (solves the "waiting for device" warning)
I have both of those installed...been making a lot of changes though. I'm going to get rid of what I have and get a fresh restart...windows always does happier things then.
I just did this too. Had the same issue and then I saw at the bottom of their instructions that there is an alternate driver you can try. When I was prompted to install Android 1.0 I specified the unzipped folder for this alternate driver and it worked perfectly. I think I had to reboot and then I was able to proceed. I'm unlocked rooted and have all of the goodies they had listed on their getting started guide installed.Happy day (er night).
is Samsung 'Android ADB Interface' the correct device name and driver? Seems to me that before there was a driver list that included dates next to the driver?
Well it's late...my brain fails me, Gladiator is on and I just got MIUI loaded onto my touchpad. Time to fall asleep under these condidtions.![]()
Are we there yet?? Whine whine whine. To early for wine. Maybe just half a bottle of Everclear whilst we wait!

Question on Backup/Restore: I wanted to wait a few weeks after getting my phone before rooting -- just to make sure I wanted to keep it and and mostly to make sure there we no hardware problems. Now I am reluctant because unlocking wipes the phone. I noticed that the next version is going to have backup/restore. There is a thread over at xda that describes how to use adb backup and restore to perform (an almost) complete backup and restore. This is a new feature in ICS and should take the pain out of unlocking. Is that the technique you are using in the 1.1 version?

Hmmm, I'm not getting the "Yes" to start the rooting process on my phone. I can see the ADB Device listed, and when I look in the Device manager the phone is listed. I select option 1, the phone reboots, and my options are: Start, Restart Bootloader, Recovery Mode, Power Off, and then back to Start. I have selected each of these, with no results. When installing everything all went fine. I even tried reinstalling everything, restarted both computer and phone with no luck. At the bottom of the screen I have Fastboot mode, Product name Tuna, Variant Toro, HW Version 9 and so on.
Thanks for any help.
Jeff.
